🌮 Taco ’bout a great day! Students had so much fun at the Hispanic Heritage Festival at Texarkana College. ¡Qué viva la cultura! 🎶🎉

✨ Learning got a little gooey in 5th grade! Our scientists-in-training mixed up Oobleck and discovered how states of matter can get a little strange (and messy!). 🧪🎉

✨ Our 3rd graders have been busy exploring multiplication in small groups! Working together, they shared strategies, discovered patterns, and built a deeper understanding of how multiplication connects to everyday math. We love seeing teamwork + problem solving in action! 💡X👏

❤️ Yesterday our 3rd grade Humanities students spent some time learning about 9/11 and the brave heroes from that day. We also talked about the heroes we see right here in our own community. The kids decided they wanted to make thank you cards for our local heroes, and today some of the TAFD stopped by to pick them up. 🚒 They even chatted with a few of our students, which made their day! So proud of these sweet kiddos for showing kindness and gratitude. 💙 A huge thank you to the Texarkana Arkansas Fire Department for all you do for our community and for making the time to visit with us!

Today in Science Lab 👩🏻‍🔬 3rd graders became engineers while testing motion and force with toy cards 🚗💨 4th graders became scientists while exploring how heat moves through different types of materials. 🔥☕️ Hands-on learning = BIG  discoveries! 🎉

Tip of the Week

Good Morning! Bus registration is open. It will take 1-2 days for us to receive information from the Transportation Department as they are diligently working to get all students placed. No student will be put on a bus without a colored bus tag. https://www.tasd7.net/page/transportation-department

Good afternoon Fairview Families! We are gearing up for the start of a great year! I just wanted to make you aware of some upcoming dates. August 9 (9AM-1PM) is the Back to School Bash at Razorback Stadium. August 11 (4PM-6PM) is meet the teacher. August 6 is the deadline for signing up for the bus. Don't forget, we have purchased all school supplies. However, we are asking that you send your child with hand sanitizer and tissue. One last thing, the school day is from 8:20-3:50 this year. All of this information can be found on Facebook or the Website (tasd7.net). We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at Razorback Stadium!

With the likelihood of bad weather tomorrow, we have made a contingency plan for an indoor field day. While we know that this will not be as exciting as an outdoor field day, we have made every effort to make accommodations so that students will have a memorable experience. One of the downsides is that we will not have the space to accommodate guests, therefore parents will not be in attendance. We will send out a message first thing in the morning to announce indoor or outdoor field day.

This will be FUN!!

Dear Fairview Families, It is with heartfelt gratitude and pride that I share a major milestone in our school’s journey—Fairview has officially raised its school letter grade to a B for the first time in over a decade. This accomplishment is a direct result of the incredible work happening every day within our classrooms, and the unwavering support you provide at home. Our staff has shown relentless commitment to meeting every child where they are and helping them grow. From early mornings to after-school tutoring, they have poured time, energy, and heart into creating an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and challenged. Our students, too, have risen to the occasion. They’ve shown resilience, taken ownership of their learning, and embraced the high expectations set before them. Whether it’s improving attendance, making better behavior choices, or pushing through tough reading assignments, their hard work is paying off. We’ve focused on three clear goals this year: Decreasing chronic absenteeism Reducing Category II and III discipline referrals Increasing literacy rates Thanks to our united effort—school, home, and community—we’ve made meaningful progress in each area. As Superintendent Dr. Jackson said, “These results reflect more than just numbers—they reflect the dedication, focus, and heart of our school community. We are proud of the progress we’ve made and energized by the path ahead.” We celebrate this moment with humility and joy—and with a renewed commitment to keep growing.
